FAQS
I’m Here for You
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
First we will look at your tongue, take your pulse and ask you a few questions. If you’re unfamiliar with acupuncture, you may be imagining that the needles are the same kind you see when you have blood drawn or get a shot. They are not the same. The needles used for acupuncture are very thin, sometimes the thickness of just a single human hair. They’re flexible and designed so that you feel little, if any, discomfort when they’re inserted. Once the needles are inserted, they may be manipulated by turning them or otherwise adjusting them. We may also use additional therapies such as heat ,cupping or gentle electrical stimulation.
You’re very likely to feel relaxed during your treatment, which generally lasts 1 hour.
DOES COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
No generally Cosmetic Acupuncture does not hurt. Most people barely feel anything other than a quick prick when the needles is first inserted. This should disappear in a split second and the rest of the treatment should be very relaxing. We use specialised small facial needles for the treatment, these are finer than the needles used for the body.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT?
We ask clients to come a few minutes early to fill out the client sheets and with clean skin and no make up. If possible try to wear comfortable clothes.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS OR DOWNTIME WITH COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE?
Cosmetic acupuncture is safe and gentle. There is no downtime after a Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment. However we do suggest to avoid saunas and sun exposure for 48 hours after LED Therapy. Generally you can get on with your normal daily routine, however we do recommend you to be gentle on your body after treatment as the effects of the needles will continue after the needles have been taken out.
The most likely side effect post treatment will be a flushed face due to the increased blood flow to the face. Occasionally minor bruising may occur at the site of needle insertion. This usually resolves it self in a few days and can be treated with ice and arnica at home.

ARE THERE ANY INSTANCES THAT I SHOULDN’T HAVE COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE
